What were the historical circumstances surrounding the enactment of The Social Security Act?
Why are those circumstances unprecedented?
How has the Act changed since 1935?
(2) Current implementation
How is the Act currently implemented?
How does the Act pay for itself?
What are the problems it currently faces?
(3) Adequacy, equity, efficiency
To what extent is the Act ADEQUATE (sufficient enough) to live on)?
To what extent is it EQUITABLE (treat all similarly situated people the same)?
To what extent is current [public] implementation EFFICIENT (or could the private sector do a better job)?
Writing Requirements:
Must be in APA format (see Library Resource Guide for assistance)
10 unique sources (must be from reputable sources)
Be 5-7 pages in length (this does not count reference page or cover pages)
Your paper should be understandable at first read
Utilize an expository, third-person, professional voice (not first-person or colloquial, i.e “I”, “Me”)
Support every factual claim with a peer-reviewed citation
