Under its previous management, Royal Dutch Shell used to be operating at a very high-profit rate. However, the tactics of operations imposed by the previous leadership team were on the receiving end of plenty of serious criticism from all over the world. Therefore, it is our task as a new leadership to improve the image of our company in ways that would improve our operations and satisfy the people’s needs simultaneously.

Throughout this report, we will be identifying ourselves as the new management of Shell, then we will identify the current identity of our company. These are small steps that would help us in building and executing our strategic plan. By identifying the culture of our company, we can compare it to our current missions and vision to construct a new set of missions and visions. For this report, we define the new objectives for our company, then we try to highlight some major challenges we might face while pursuing our objectives to finally illustrate the exact route we will be taking towards the future.

Profitability is an important aspect of all businesses, but working in the energy sector is not just a business. As a top oil and gas company, we are supplying energy to a vast percentage of the world population, but unfortunately, no matter how honorable our act is, it can never be performed without a serious damage to the environment. Therefore, as the new leadership of Shell, we are making it our mission to use a part of our profits to research the possibility of making our products greener for the sake of the environment. The research of renewable energies will also be a part of the focus of our group to identify any plausible alternatives to oil and gas.

Local Lens is an Emirati startup that was born from the passion and the love of the UAE

thatfound in five young engineers. It was born from their ingenuity and unique way of

thinking. It was born to provide authentic Emirati cultural experiences to those who visit

the country and to show them the beauty, the grandeur and all the hidden gems through

the eyes of the UAE’s locals. Although Local Lens is a new startup we aim to be the

leading company in the tourism industry, we aim to be a vital pillar of the industry; we

aim to be the top tourism company a company that provides its customers with authentic

tours, unique experiences with great prices and packages.

Local Lens aims to be a 100% local company that is led by young local talent, the CEO

of the company Nouf Salem, the COO Hour Matar, the CFO AmalAlkatheeri, the CMO

Mohamed Aldhanhani, and the CHRO Mariam Almarzooqi, and employs locals from a

wide range of backgrounds and fields. And to reach our goals for Local Lens we would

need a work environment that promotes positive energy, the use of ingenuity, the

creativity and the vast and wide range of knowledge that are found in the company.

To reach our goals we first need to examine the capabilities of Local Lens, we need to

analyze the current state of the company as well as its future state. And through the use of

the SWOT analysis we would be able to identify the strengths and weaknesses to utilize

them and overcome them respectively. As well as allowing us to identify all the

opportunities we might utilize and all the challenges that might face us as a new startup.

Challenges can come in any form and can come in different fields such as: political,

economic, social, technological, legal and environmental challenges. To overcome those

challenges several steps are taken. First the challenges must be categorized into field,

short or long term and they must be prioritized. After that they are distributed to the

leader best built to handle and overcome them. The leader would then analyze the

challenge from all directions and come up with several solutions to combat and overcome

them, which would lead to the implementation which would aid the company to reach all

the goals and objectives it had set in the future plan and vision.
