Signature strength inventory
Review the Enhancing your Self-Esteem: Core Virtues and Signature Strengths Inventory in Chapter 3. Complete the signature strengths inventory and score it —pages 104-106 in the e-text.
Then, as our text says, “Remember that in most cases, developing the traits or characteristics comprising signature strengths just involves a conscious choice or decision to do so, even if it may be hard, inconvenient or awkward at first.” (page 106).
“These are behaviors that you have direct control over.
Use the suggestions for how to develop your strengths offered by Lynn Johnson (2008), and evaluate three suggestions you have applied, and the impact (positive or negative) they have created in your life.
This assignment takes some time. Please start now. You have four weeks.
In one paragraph for each signature strength that you chose, identify the signature strengths
You will be graded on
1) the implementation of this activity – what did you do, who was involved, how much time did it take, how many times did you replicate the new behaviors?
2) your reasoning for choosing these activities – your decision, why this activity, why now, could your family be involved?
3) your analysis of your behaviors as you executed actions to develop specific signature strengths more fully – what happened when the behavior was carried out, what made it work, what didn’t, who was impacted, how you would do this again, would you recommend activity this to others?
Your final paragraph should address the relationship of these activities to the growth of your self-esteem.
