The Active Mind Network

Theorganization’s name is“Active Mind Network.” It is a behavioral health organization to help young people familiesand the vulnerable elderly and children become mentally healthy. We are dedicated to using youths to create mental health awareness in all institutions, including schools and colleges.  The Active Mind Network will empower youths to advocate for open talks about mental health, offer education to others, andencourage help-seeking. We will also offer the necessary expertise in the promotion of mental health and suicide prevention in colleges.

Type of the Organization

The Active Mind Network considers ourselves a non-profit organization since we will apply sound business principles, such as research-based leadership, to enhance forward-thinking and continually come up with models that will help youths overcome adversities they faced duringchildhood hence enabling them to live a positive and healthy life.

Location of Organization

We aim at being located in rural areas where there is limited access to the main facilities offering psychiatric services. Additionally, we need to reach out to the families facing financial challenges and not able to raise psychiatric services fees. These include families from minority groups and low-income earners.

Staff Required

A mental health organization  works as a team of professionals who include mental health nurses and medical staff including psychiatrists, therapists’ social workers, educators, and doctors. However, these will work in various settings, including people’s homes, schools, hospitals, and other public amenities.They will help in dealing with issues that range from eating disorders, depression, anxiety, personality, addiction to alcohol, and drugs.

Vision

Our vision is becoming the national solution to the families and youths’ mental health by providing opportunities to those with severe mental disordersto enjoy life in the community hence promoting community integration.

Mission Statement

Enhancing community satisfaction in mental health services is determined by accessibility, help-seeking resulting from reduced stigma for mental disorders and minimized human rights violation. Thus, we aim to ensure good quality services, provide a wide range of services to ensure clinical needs are met, and reduce costs in both services and personnel.

Proposed Clientele

The organization services include hospital diversion programs, community-based rehabilitation services, therapeutic and residential supervised services, mobile crisis teams, and community-based services for special populations, such as the elderly, adolescents and children, home help and support services(WHO, 2003). Thus, our main clients will include the elderly, adolescents, and children. Also, youth and the larger part of the families will be allowed to be served by the organization.  The Active Mind Network will work closely with the communities and schools to promote awareness and mental health training.

The program services will be entirely free to everyone. However, monetary donations from individuals or groups will be acceptable. People can participate in fundraiser walks in colleges and the community at large. Buying goods meant to support the organization and connecting and sharing in social media to enhance awareness about its initiatives and mission will be recommendable.

Facilities Need for Services Delivery

The organization working officewill help coordinate activities since mental health services cannot be situated in a hospital working facility(Dropkin et al., 2007). However, there is a need to have effective networking with mental and general health hospitals. It will require a close link with informal care providers and primarycare services providers working in the community(WHO, 2003). The facilities need to have general health workers who have general mental health training due to the lack of skilled personnel in a small minority.

The organization also will require an accountant who will be in charge of finances from grants, donations, and community contributions, among other sources. The account will also help in organization budgeting to ensure effective working and carrying out of activities. A research team will help develop models and structures to help in dealing with mental health. They will also carry out effective reports presented to the stakeholders, donors, and partners for transparency and enhance improvements.

There is a need to have the necessary equipment to assist in carrying out daily duties, including workshop training for the volunteers. Necessary technology needs to be in place to help connect and link with all parties involved in the services delivery. Training material and other essential requirement s need to be in place to ease access to hospitals and respond to emergencies.

Conclusion

A well-funded and well-resourced community mental health organization will benefit the entire community by promoting effective societal integration. It will create mental health satisfaction among the community members, have a stigma reduction, reduce the cost of accessing these facilities, and reduce mortality from mental health.Thus, as The Active Mind Network, we are dedicated to saving lives and building better communities and families. It will be enhanced through education, focus, advocacy, and education for our clientele.
