The argument is that obtaining a gun should not be stricter than what is it already. These are the requirements that needs to be followed thank you.
Students are to research a debatable topic of their choice. However, all topics must have the ability to be argued from opposing fronts. Think simultaneously being a prosecutor and defense attorney on the same court case. All students are to have their topics approved by me (before starting), dictating what the overall theme of the topic will be and the opposing stances that will be discussed and argued.
The purpose of the assignment is to give students an opportunity to objectively investigate both sides of an issue (in some cases there may be more than two) and only upon a thorough investigation of opposing arguments via research, data, empirical analysis, etc. can one truly make an honest conclusion about the topic at hand. One of the primary goals of this assignment is to focus on true facts and reputable data analysis. Far too often people pick a side without taking the time to truly research their stance or give opposing views an opportunity to make their case.

The introduction of your essay should be where you discuss what your topic and opposing arguments will be objectively. (An introduction should provoke the reader to want to continue reading…always keep that in mind.)
The conclusion is the only portion of the essay in which you will be allowed to express your personal opinion(s) after having adequately argued both sides. It is important to know that while you may already have opinions on your topic, this assignment forces you to argue on behalf of the opposing position as well.
