Please note that only the exact quotes from someone else need to be quoted, but that even when you put someone else’s ideas into your own words, you must provide documentation.
The act of putting someone else’s ideas into your own words is called “paraphrasing.” The process is simply following these steps: (1) begin by reading; (2) carefully think about what you read (preferably without looking at the original wording); (3) cover the original with your hand so that you can’t possibly see it; (4) proceed to write your understanding of what you’ve just read into your own words; (5) check what you’ve written against the original to make sure you didn’t copy the original wording even subconsciously
