“12-Step” Project: Two 12-Step Meetings and Two Interviews with Sponsors: Students will attend one Open AA/NA meeting. Additionally, each student will interview one AA/NA sponsor. You are to attend the meetings and conduct the interviews by yourself (no shared interviews).

Students will turn in a total of two single-page reflections combined into one paper. Please write these up in narrative form rather than in bulleted lists or simply filling in your answers to the suggested questions below, as the purpose of this assignment is for you to synthesize all of the information into a coherent, well-organized narrative.
The interviews with sponsors need to be approximately 30 minutes long, if possible. Students will share their meeting and interview experiences/reactions in a discussion board later in the term. Remember to honor your interviewee’s anonymity by using only the first name or first name initial on your interview notes. Most sponsors are open to be interviewed by students. For the interviews, let the interviewees know that they are free to decline answering any of the questions. Also, end the interview with validation and appreciation for the person’s strengths!
