Find at least 2 additional sourcesfor your research essay.

  1. Locate at least two sources for your persuasive research paper.
    • One of your articles must be from the Library database and must be peer-reviewed or written by an expert researcher
    • The other one may be government documents, association/organization websites such as the World Health Organization, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Nuclear Association, etc.
    • You may also use a reputable news source or magazine, such as Newsweek, Maclean’s, cbc.ca, Chronicle Journal, etc.
    • All resources must be within a 7 year date range (2013-present)
    • Note: Wikipedia, blogs, WebMD, About.com, Livestrong, and corporate websites ARE NOT appropriate for secondary research in College assignments.
  2. For each source, use the attached charts to complete the following:
    • In 2-4 sentences, summarize the main points in the article as well as the author’s perspective on your topic.
    • Choose 1 interesting fact from the article; copy it and then cite it according to the citation instructions for that source template.
(See the APA citation examples at the end of this assignment).
    • Evaluate whether this is a good source for your persuasive essay or not: will you use it in writing your essay?
    • Prepare the APA reference for the article or website (Hint: you can generate this if you use EBSCO or PROQUEST via the College Library, but check to make sure it is APA 7th edition)*

  3. Submit your completed WORD doc evaluation to Research Skills 2. You do NOT need an APA title page for this assignment; do include your full name at the top of the assignment. Hint: delete this page and fill in your answers on pages 2-3.
