References
In the body of your report, you will give a mention to your source and embed a link directly in the flow of text to it.
Example: “According to Buzzfeed, my dog Dottie is a Hufflepuff.”
Pro-tip: In Microsoft Word, the keyboard shortcut to embed a hyperlink in Windows is CTRL+K (for Mac OS its ⌘+K)
At the end of your report, you will include a list of references
Use APA format
Regna, M. (2019). These 7 Questions Will Determine Which Hogwarts House Your Dog Is In. Retrieved from https://www.buzzfeed.com/ michelleregna/which-hogwarts-house-does -your-dog-belong-in.
If you have less than seven (7) references, you should ask yourself if you have really provided sufficient evidence to support your claims and recommendations
Required Report Elements
Business Model Canvas (30)
List all components of the business model canvas in a report format with headings for each component.
Bullet points acceptable; however, the information provided should be substantial, complete and detailed with appropriate references.
Note: This should be completed first but will go at the end of your report.
Executive Summary (7.5)
Provide a brief summary (approximately two paragraphs) of the key information from your entire report.
Pro-tip: This should be the last thing you write.
Summary of Business Model (15)
Explain how the organization creates value and generates revenue.
Describe the infrastructure and physical resources the organization relies upon to create value and generate revenue (e.g. key activities, resources, and distribution channels).
Covid-19 Impact Assessment (30)
Provide an overview of the Covid-19 pandemic
Describe your assigned firm’s industry and explain how, generally, the industry has been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic
Describe where, in terms of geography, your assigned organization operates and how the organization is vulnerable to (and/or benefits from) Covid-19 based on this geographic presence
Consider the epidemic spread of the disease
Consider the effect of related government policies and official recommendations
Consider the effect of relevant sociocultural trends (e.g. shifts in attitudes and behaviors with respect to the “new normal”)
Describe how the organization is vulnerable to (and/or benefits from) Covid-19 based on its geography, business model, target consumer segments, operations, human resources, supply chain, etc. (i.e. make connections between the Covid-19 pandemic and the firm’s business model canvas)
Consider how your assigned firm is more or less impacted by Covid-19 than other firms in its industry
Include at least two data visualizations (e.g. charts, graphs, etc.) to support your argument
Business Impact Scenario Analysis (15)
Describe, in detail, how the Covid-19 pandemic impacts the organization
Explain the impact to date and expected future impact (i.e. 2021)
For future impact, perform a scenario analysis: Compare the best case scenario, worst case scenario, and most likely case scenario
Where possible, provide quantitative estimates of potential impact (e.g. “operations interrupted for an average of 17 days” or “daily sales increase of 20% in regions with lockdown mandates”).
Recommendations (22.5)
Describe specific steps the organization could take to minimize the ongoing and future impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the firm.
Provide at least three recommendations and explain how each could minimize the negative impact on the firm and/or increase the odds of survival/profitability.
Examples: modify or expand business model, update physical infrastructure, develop a “pivot” strategy, implement safety protocols, update policies to protect and retain human resources, etc.
