How the Jolt Action organization in Texas focuses on building
Once you pick out an interest group, find their official website. What is the name of your interest group? Describe the purpose of your interest group. What are they trying to accomplish? What cause does it advocate? What change does it want and why? What are they trying to do with their website? What are some of the different activities that your interest group partakes in to achieve their goals? Provide a minimum of 3 specific examples. Does your group seem to be a more extreme or mainstream group? How could you tell? If you were to join this interest group, what incentives would you gain? What benefits? What would you do if you were to get involved with this group? How does this interest group help/benefit Texas?
Include a simple heading on your paper with Name, Course and Section, Date, and Heading.
As you write your paper, remember to include a Works Cited page and, as per MLA rules, in-text citation of the information that you pulled from your sources. Please use in-text/parenthetical citations for quotes, etc, pulled from sources.
Avoid “long quotes,” which are quotes that go longer than 5 lines of page space and are usually indented in toto, and you should limit your quoting in your paper to less than 10%. Remember, I want to see what you have to say about the interest group not what your sources say.
