Admission Essay Activities

1 – I played in the TV series called CocuklarDuymasin from 2010 to 2019 which also translates into “not in front of the kids”. I have gained an understanding of the instruments in both in front and back of the camera in this series, in which I started as a child actor. Our series was named The Best Comedy Series in Turkey at the Golden Butterfly award, and at this time it taught me both about acting and how to do comedy because I grew up in the set.

2- I went to west end stage Summer School in England in 2019. I had the most fun time at this summer school, and I also had the opportunity to develop myself in voice training, dance and acting.At the end of summer school, I played the musical called Aladdin at the West End theatre, and thanks to this, I had the opportunity to advance my art and get to know different cultures.

3 – The summer school I attended was at the London Academy of Music and dramatic art, Lamda Academy. In this program, I had the opportunity to concentrate on acting. As I studied Shakespeare’s rhythm and plays in detail, I learned more about modern monologues.

4 – When I joined the Bogazici youth choir, I had the opportunity to develop my knowledge of music theory. Passing the choir’s tough exams allowed me to keep my knowledge fresh. Singing the same song from different voices with more than 60 people at the same time taught me both music and mode at the same time. And, of course, shooting videos and choreography in a virtual environment has taught me a lot about editing.

5 – When I went to the young tour short film Camp in 2019, my friends and I learned to work together. We wrote the script for our short film and then shot it and edited it. We also did acting. Thanks to all this, I have been involved in every stage of a short film and learned new information that I have never learned.One thing I’ve never tried before was to make a movie lover, and it was instructive and fun to do it.

6-  I took human history and film analysis courses at Sabancı University Summer School.In these classes, I had the opportunity to learn the meanings of symbols hidden behind important films and their relationship with people. I learned about films that received awards at the Oscar or blood Film Festival,and thanks to this summer school, my perspective on watching movies changed, and I began to notice some important details more easily.I briefly learned the director’s point of view.

7 – I attended the Philadelphia Music Festival in 2016 and attended summer school at Bryn Marr University.I got a chance to play the oboe in the orchestra. I learned a lot with the pressure of being the first oboe.At the same time, I had the opportunity to develop my language and get to know different cultures at a young age.As I prepared for our concert at the end of summer school, I learned oboe techniques that I never knew. This program’s drama club also enabled me to explore my interest in drama.

8 – I was a student at Istanbul University State Conservatory for 8 years. In the oboe section, I learned to play an instrument I’d never heard before, and my teacher became my inspiration. I started going to the first concerts of my life at this school when I was studying art and artists .I learned the difficulties of Istanbul , music, history of music and discipline in this school. This school is one of the reasons I started all my interest in art.

9-  I discovered my sense of rhythm at Tan Sagturk Academy and started doing ballet . After getting ballet performances on key stages, I moved on to hip hop and modern dance. I started being on stage at an early age, doing a lot of shows at this school that allowed me to recognize and love different types of dance. I’ve discovered which dance suits me and my body.

10-  I got to know Stanislavski and Viola Spolin in my acting work with EgeMaltepe. I also attached their books .In this course, which I attended to understand their philosophy, my perspective on acting changed and a lot of things became easier. I had the chance to make short films where we played classic monologues and set the scenes myself.

11 – I had the opportunity to study musical acting with MetehanKarabekir at KMK Academy .I studied musical songs while studying musical history.
