This semester we talk about globalization as “the expansion of linkage between regions and the changes occuring at each end of the linkage” (Rees 2018, np). For centuries in Europe from the Habsburg Empire through the Communist dictatorship the peasants lived their lives working with pigs. They used horses as a method of transport. Eastern Europe united networks of farms, breeding pigs on the fast track and slaughtering them for every piece of meat and muscle that can be squeezed. And with what they squeezed, they were making sausages. (Carvajal 2009, np). Romania has had a drop in pig farmers of more than 80%. There were some farmers who decided to emigrate with their families and others who decided to work for construction. In 2003, there were more than 400,000 pig farmers, but in 2007 it fell to 52,000. (Carvajal 2009, np). The example I chose helped me to understand how economic globalization changed year by year.

Today I will analyze and interpret the thematic map of East Asia, Southeast Asia, and Europe population density (LaundryPizza 03, 2018).The map is showing how the population changes from region to another region. I am breaking down the population classification from six to three. The classifications I am going to use for explaining this map is going to be low, middle and high. The low population classification ranges from zero to twenty five people per km2, the middle classification ranges from twenty six to fifty people per km2, and high classification is over 250 people per km2. It is not possible to compare the population of areas outside South-East Asia with the people of Southeast Asia. The population of the Southeast Asian region has been estimated at 100 to more than 250. Some areas in Europe have also populated more than 250. Regions outside Asia and Europe are not heavily populated, the population of North and South America ranges from 25 to 100. Some regions do not have data due to a lack of population.
