Executive Summary
This is your FINAL EXAMINATION PAPER. It is about writing an Executive Summary that allows an outsider to understand your brilliant business idea in only a few pages.
Make sure that when you write the executive summary that you cover each area of interest briefly. Create subheadings so I will know which section is which. Information should include:
I. Title Page
II. Table of Contents
III. The Opportunity
IV. The Company and Its Products (or Services) and Strategy
V. The Management Team
VI. Marketing Plan
VII. Operating Plan (what will you do to successfully run the business and how will you make money)
VIII. Financial Plan (use the template I passed out in class that shows your expected revenue and expenses, as well as profit or loss for years 1, 3, and 5 of your organization – this also works for a non-profit even though any excess money after expenses would not be called “profit”)
These are the same areas that you will find in a business plan, but an executive summary is much shorter. Your Executive Summary must be a minimum of 3000 words. As I stated during the semester, if you do not reach the word count, then you will be penalized at the same level of your word shortage. So if you turn in a paper with only 50% of the words, then your grade will start out with only 50% of the credit, and then may also lose points for grammar, content, etc. So, I suggest you hit the word total. This is the final exam and it is part of the 46% of your total final grade.
You will be graded on covering each area and writing a compelling paper. Add additional information if you think it will be helpful.

My business idea I chose was a business called JC’s Water Plan which is a business idea I have to prevent water pollution.
