The purpose of this assignment is to practice building and writing the most common and foundational type of paper in the field of psychology: The Literature Review.
A literature review is a synthesis of the scholarly literature (peer-reviewed and published) on a topic. First, you read and understand the individual articles. and then you integrate the ideas and research into a coherent report. It is NOT a simple string of summaries of articles. It is NOT a persuasive argument. Your textbook is actually an example of a type of literature review. It gives a synthesis of scholarly literature allowing a student to learn about the material overall rather than having to read thousands of individual works and then figure out how they fit together.
Sometimes because of the topic you choose to write on (hopefully something very interesting and relevant to you), there is a temptation to write from the first-person perspective–using language such as I/you/my. This is not the type of paper where you will write from the first-person voice. You are presenting the research from a neutral point of view. It is fine to submit your own personal feelings/biases/experiences in the comments section when you submit the assignment.
Instructions: Write a 5 page APA style literature review on an approved (by instructor) topic in developmental psychology. A “literature review” is a summary of the scientific writings on a particular topic.
Paper will include the following sections (other APA sections are not required):

Abstract
Main Body (5 pages)
Concluseion
