essay question: 1) Hume writes: “All our simple ideas in their first appearance are deriv’d from simple impressions… (T 1.1.1.7). Shortly thereafter he adds: “all our simple ideas proceed… from their corresponding impressions” (T 1.1.1.12). What does he mean by this? Granting for the sake of argument that Hume’s principle is true, describe some conclusions which you think can be correctly drawn from it.
