Instructions:

This course was designed to serve as an introduction to the principles of sustainable transportation; within the context of preparing students for a Master’s in Sustainable Smart Cities. Concepts, viewpoints, and fundamentals essential for understanding the Green Infrastructure and Transportation agenda are presented in lecture. However, these materials will focus on a wider view of policies and considerations necessary for the design of future cities and metropolitan areas.

The intent of this assignment is to give students the opportunity to further evaluate a single global city / metropolitan area of their choice with regards to sustainable transportation.

Themes to be explored include but are not limited to:

Transportation challenges faced / overcome
Conventional vs. alternative strategies
Technology employed
Driver / pedestrian safety
Stakeholders (Engineers, Architects, Govt,)
Population, demographics, impact…

Basic Requirements:

Minimum 2000 words or equivalent (8 pages, double-spaced)
12 font size(Ariel, Times New Roman , or Calibri)
Title Page (Name,Title, Abstract, Date)
- 200-300-word Abstract
Page Numbers
Bibliography / References Page (APA, MLA, or ASCE)
- A minimum of 10 cited references (web, journal, govt reports…no Wikipedia!)
