In your essay (1500 words) you could:-
INTRODUCTION (10%)
¥Provide a clear introduction to the topic area being researched (reference any information).
¥Offer a sound rationale for choice of topic area.
¥Give an indication of how the work will be structured.

Main Essay (80%)
¥Discuss providing public health promotion in nursing to patient based on the best available evidence.
¥Briefly identify how you found the evidence for your topic (your search strategy). The method used in the retrieval of the information, and the rationale for the choice of the five items of information selected.
¥Use the five items of information, plus any other literature you feel appropriate, and thematically explore the information you have obtained from reading the five items, be clear what is meant by thematic. Don’t repeat back the summaries but discuss what they collectively explain on the topic.
¥ Referring to your five items, and the wider literature if needed, describe how your information promotes the health of service users and your role as a nurse in the promotion of public health in the area of your chosen public health topic.

Conclusion (10%)
¥Provide a conclusion that summarises the key points of your essay and responds/answers the main topic identified in the opening of your introduction.

Reference list:
You must provide a full reference list, which includes the five selected items of information plus any other information you have used to support your essay. The work must be fully referenced using the University guidelines (Harvard).

Appendix: Directly after the essay include your 5, 200 word summaries.

The summaries (Five x 200 words) you should:-
Research five items of information associated with your chose area of Public health promotion. Use the five pieces of information in your essay. The information must be related to the topic, and there must be one item of information from each of the following categories:-
¥Quantitative
¥Qualitative
¥Opinion based
¥Leaflet or Poster
¥Social Media e.g. Web Page, facebook, You Tube Clip

What type of information is this? Why have you selected this particular piece of evidence? What are the main issues identified in the information source? What are the key findings/conclusions?

Remember to upload your 5 pieces of information/evidence that supports your assessed work in the separate folder below your Annotated Bibliography Turnitin Submission folder. The process for doing this is explained in the submission is the same as uploading your assignment to the Turnitin submission folder.
Marking your work
Your assignment will be marked in accordance with the level 4 grade criteria, for the University. This grade criteria is in your student handbook. A selection of students work will also be moderated by another academic staff member and by the external examiner.
Your feedback comments and grade will be available via your “my grade “button on the NPR1025 module NILE site, four weeks from submission of your work. You should make an appointment to discuss the grade and feedback with your personal academic tutor.
ALWAYS REMEMBER TO:
1.Ensure that your essay is referenced throughout with a completed reference list in line with The UoN Harvard Referencing Guidelines.
2.Check you have answered the question and met the learning outcomes
3.Your work needs to be word processed using Verdana 11 point typeface, with 1:5 or double line spacing and be on one side of A4 paper only per template.
4.This essay and your summaries need to be in one word document and must be submitted electronically using the Turnitin facility found under the ‘Submit Your Work’ button on NILE.
