Reflection on Ghani’s article

The focus for post#2 is the content of Faras Ghani’s article “Black Lives Matter: Should Sports and Politics Mix?” and your response to it. Write a two-part post: 1. follow the guidelines in section 1 below to show your comprehension of the article and the issue of the politics of sports; and 2. answer the question Ghani poses in his title. You should have a minimum of two paragraphs (you may have more). You do not need a References page. Use of first person I is permitted.
1. The first section of his article, Ghani lists various athletes and their stances and actions. Select one athlete and provide more information about the athlete and incident mentioned (make a hyperlink to online content that you use to answer this part). After that, answer three of the following questions, providing evidence and support from Ghani’s article: 1. Who is Douglass Hartmann and what does he say?; 2. Who is Danyel Reiche and what does he say? 3; Who is Hafsa Kamara and what does she say?; 4. What have been some of the consequences for athletes in speaking out?; 5. What have some sports bodies and organizations done in response to the demands for change?
2. Provide your response to Ghani’s question, should sports and politics mix? What do you think? Use evidence to support your point of view. Build on ideas that Ghani has provided and develop your own rationale from what you have learned or contexts that you are familiar with. Is there anything that you could add to Ghani’s discussion?
