INSTRUCTIONS
5 full pages, double spaced, MLA style. The works cited page should be on page 6. Use your direct reading of the film, the textbook (will give information to later), and lectures (just talk about the author when referring to this). Also, use 3 outside sources that discuss the films and the political and social issues happening at the time these films were made (Late 1990’s / Early 2000’s). Connect these issues to what you see in the films – how American Culture is reflected in these films. Approximately 3/4 of your analysis should be on the NEW film you just viewed. Use at least 2-3 specific scenes from each film to illustrate your points. Describe what you see and hear on screen from each film to illustrate your points. Describe what you see and hear on-screen and how the actors portray their characters through performance (and how the director uses mise-en-scene, framing, lighting, sound, and art direction to convey meaning).
