Your presentation should emphasize the importance of a communication topic that increases the knowledge and skills of your classmates. You have already proved your effectiveness in business writing; now let us strengthen your speaking skills.

Delivery methods could include a video, skit, PowerPoint, or a combination.

Dress for success in your presentation. Show your professionalism by the way you dress.

Oral Presentation Assignment

The Oral Presentation Assignment is due on Tuesday, October 13, 2020.  You will submit your final outline and PowerPoint to the Canvas website.

You will need to have someone video your (approximately 3 minute) presentation on a smart phone or schedule a personal Zoom appointment with me between October 8^th and October 13^th.

If you use a smart phone, please email me the presentation.  If you would like to set a Zoom appointment, please email me with several days/times that would work best for you.

When making the presentation, make sure that it looks as professional as possible.

Oral Presentation Guidelines

As a business professional, it is important that you know how to communicate orally.  This project gives you the opportunity to develop those skills.

Choose a topic that interests you and plan the content and how you will present this content; Use the features of effective sales letters:  AIDA 

Attention, Interest, Desire and Action

This is an individual presentation.  Participate as though you are getting paid for it.

Requirements

1. You will speak for approximately 3 minutes. Be interesting. You can use your phone to have a friend/family member film/video you, you can submit your PowerPoint and add audio to it, or you can set a personal Zoom appointment with your instructor to give your oral presentation.
2. Use appropriate visual aids: skits, posters, PowerPoints slides, DVDs, or a combination of these.
3. Notecards may be used if you do not read from them. You do not have to use all the information from your outline.
4. End the presentation with a 3-question quiz—see who was paying attention.
5. Business-like dress is expected for the presentation.

Evaluation

1. Outline for oral presentation (submit to Canvas)
2. Written information (PowerPoint to accompany outline and oral presentation and submit to Canvas)
3. You can video your presentation (via your phone), include audio with your PowerPoint or you can set a private Zoom appointment.
