Final paper will be a 8-10-page exegetical paper on one of these passages of scripture: Ephesians 2:1-9. This will count as an additional 50 points. The paper is to be done in SCS format and guidelines. Those who have not taken Theological Research and Writing will be provided a format, but those who have taken the class are expected and required to follow the SCS format.

Title Page (1 page), Introduction and Main Idea (1 1/2-2 pages): incorporate your summary and introduce the main idea of your passage; Context (1-2 pages) include a brief discussion of the H-CC of the book. What’s needed to know about the biblical author, the original audience, and their world in order to know the meaning of the passage. Then discuss the literary context of your passage. Describe the author’s flow of thought, how your passage fits into and contributes to the flow of thought. How does it relate to the passage that precedes it and the one that follows it?
Content (5-8 pages): Explain what the text says and what it means in context. Explain what the text says and what it means in context. Make sure you cite your commentaries used. Application (1 page) Discuss several applications in the passage to contemporary audiences. Be practical and realistic. Bibliography (1 page) Formal bibliography of the sources cited in your paper.
