Research Design paper

(My topic is the impact and effect social media has had on the increase in voter turnout and voter participation in the 2020 election)
Read the instructions carefully and follow directions. This is your final research design paper and is due by 11:59 pm on December 9.

Thus far you have completed two previous research design papers on a research topic of your choosing. The literature review paper provided you the foundation on which to build, and the theory and hypothesis paper allowed you to develop your topic into a workable argument and testable hypothesis. Now you continue to the next step.

For this paper, you are to choose a research and justify why you are choosing the design. When it comes to collecting evidence for your research paper, what are you going to do? Are you going to conduct an experiment, develop or use large-n statistical analysis, or a small-n case study? What approach will you take and why.

Second, you will provide what cases you will use and why. Be specific here, what cases will you use based on your design choice to find and provide evidence and data for your research questions? Justify the choices you make as to why it fits with your topic issue as you have set-up your theory and hypothesis, and what that data will provide.

A few things to consider:
If you are going to create an experiment as your design, specifically describe the experiment you are going to do and why. Then, provide an idea of the data you will get from the experiment and what you would expect it to show.
If you plan to use existing survey or polling data, where is that data coming from and what variables will you use.
For example, if you are using the ANES survey data, then you need to look at the codebook and specifically state which variables will be your IVs and why, and what is your DV and why, along with what types of statistical tests you will conduct and why.
If you plan to do a case study and use documents, what documents will you use and why? Where will the documents come from and why? Be specific –
If you are using primary source documents, yo can go to the National Archives or presidential libraries and get finding aid lists of documents so you can specify what you will use.
If you are using secondary sources, what secondary sources and why?
If you plan to take a mixed methods approach, then what cases will you use and why? Justify why you would take this approach.

***NOTE: You are NOT going to actually collect and analyze the data. This paper is focused on what would do if given unlimited time and resources to conduct your research. You need to explain your choices for design and cases, justifying what you would do and why. The more detail you can provide in this paper the better, but the rest is up to you, it is your research project.
