Statistical Profile of an Immigrant Group For this assignment, you will write a statistical profile of an immigrant group n the United States. The project should be at least 20 pages in length (including tables, figures, and references).Your profile should integrate graphical displays of numerical data (tables, graphs,figures) with a narrative explaining the most important points from the figures. Please address the following points in your profile: 1.Describe, in broad terms, the migration history of your group. When did your group begin arriving in significant numbers? Have there been noteworthy ebbs and flows in the group’s migration pattern? Speculate about the reasons for changes over time. 2.What is the total number of foreign-born of your immigrant group currently residing in the United States? What is their percentage of all foreign-born residents? What is their size relative to other groups?13.Investigate three or four demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the members of this group in the places where most members of this group settle. There are many such characteristics from which to choose and I would like you to be creative in your selection (gender or age composition, educational attainment, poverty, racial diversity, family structure, citizenship status, etc). Speculate on why you see these patterns. In speculating about the numbers, draw on the course readings and lecture materials. You do not have to do further reading, but you may if you wish. 4.Describe the current levels of crime in the area(s) where members of that group settle. Also, have overall rates of crime in these areas remained stable, increased, or decreased over time? How about levels of violent and/or property offenses. To what extent do you think the observed pattern(s) is linked to immigration? What are the factors on which you base this assessment?5.The primary objective of this assignment is to provide an overview of what is the “average” experience for members of this group in contemporary American society and how has this changed over time. Keep in mind that this assignment will be based on information about the areas in which members of this population reside, you will not useethnic-specific measures within these areas. That is, you will compile data for entire areas not values for only members of your group of interest. For example, you would collect information for residential tenure (e.g., % homeowners, or % renters) for the city 1 The minimum size of the population you choose should be at least 120,000 in 2019. This will help ensure that datafor this group will be available at earlier periods. This is important because you will need to document and discuss temporal changes (between 1990-2019) in this population and the social structural characteristics you select. Note that this does not guarantee that there will be data for this group at earlier time points. You will need to make this determination when choosing your group of interest. The availability of information for a given group over time is arequirement for this assignment.
