Steps involved in the project work:

The course project activities are sequenced in following steps in general,

• Problem Identification
• Approach
• Design
• Simulation (optional)
• Fabrication
• Testing and
• Results
• Conclusions

Report

The final report prepared by the group is assessed on following points

• Literature Survey: Variety of references (books, research papers, articles, websites) used and appropriately cited in the report.
• Methodology: This is reflection of the actual project work carried out by the group. It includes design, approach, testing, analysis, results and conclusions presented in the report.
• Adherence with template/ format: It reflects how closely the format of the report supplied to the student is followed.

Demonstration and Presentation

• Clarity of content: The idea presented is clear and technically correct.
• Flow: Flow or sequence of the topics presented is logical.
• Time management: The time available for presentation (20 minutes) is efficiently used. Emphasis is given to the main content rather than presenting background information. All the members of the group share equal time for presenting.
• Command on Language: Use of clear and correct spoken English. Presenting and not reading from power point slides.
• Use of Multimedia: Design of power point presentation. Use of animation, video clips etc. for demonstration.

Viva

Assessment by the examiners is collective hence, it is not necessary that each examiner asks questions upon each of the following elements to each student in the group.

• Involvement of individual: Identifying leader, member and rider in the group.
• Subject knowledge: Knowledge of the basic subject/ topic related to the project.
• Critical thinking: intellectually disciplined process of actively and skilfully conceptualizing, applying, analysing, synthesizing, and/or evaluating information gathered from, or generated by, observation, experience, reflection, reasoning, or communication, as a guide to belief and action.
• Problem solving: Identifying error and providing solution for given scenario.
• Entrepreneurial skills: Identify commercial feasibility of the project.
